Remedies for Eczema
June 14, 2007 2:37 pmOne of the reasons for keeping this blog is to talk about eczema, but I have put it off for a long time. Having to explain how I’ve come to help the Angel cope with eczema brings a lot of horror to me.
For many of you who have met the Angel in Singapore, you will understand the true meaning of her acute eczema. Frankly, I do not wish to re-live the horror, both for her and me, of the suffering she had when we were in Singapore. No one can really understood the trauma I went through. I faced a lot of stares, questions, disapprovals, advices from people who did not understand and who made me feel like I was the worst mom in the world. I not only had to cope with a very difficult and distressed child, I had to cope with the mental and emotional strain. In the end, I holed up myself and the Angel in the house until it was time for us to leave for UK. Either we both didn’t handle it well or it was the weather that added to the already mutilated skin. All I can say is that, for the one month we spent in Singapore last year, the first three days were heavenly before the onset of acute eczema resulted in uncontrolled scratching, broken skin, from the face to neck to hands to legs, pretty often soaking in blood.
Having gone through all that, I now learn that eczema can be controlled in many ways. One way is probably medication, or steriod, either in the form of cream or orally. Both of which we have avoided.
When the Angel was about a month old, she developed a bad rash all over the face due to being too bundled up in the sultry Singapore weather. In the UK, she developed a red rash on the neck which wouldn’t go away, and then it spread to her face and eventually, other common places, like hands, legs and neck. That happened when she was about four-month old.
Let’s keep the horror story short. In a nutshell, the eczema started from there, and by the time the Angel was to be weaned at 7-month old, she was found to be suffering from multiple-food allergies. Again, it was another uphill for me, to learn how to cope with all that food alleries and still feed her well. My greatest support and help came from a health visitor, L, who totally understood the problems I was facing, came faithfully to visit us and referred us directly to the RVI and specialist clinics (immunologist, dermatologist, dietician). She really saved me from a multitude of heartache, headache and gave me confidence to go on, and grace to handle very hopeless and helpless situations.
I started with steriod cream, gave up when the eczema didn’t go away and was given even stronger steroid cream. When I managed to calm the skin without the use of steroid (although the doctor thought I did as I was prescribed yet another stronger steroid cream), I knew that steroid was not the answer.
Today, I have found some remedies that work wonderfully well on the skin. The true problem I have to cope with, though, is a psychological problem of an Angel who turns into an uncontrolled monster when it comes to scratching - she turns to scratching when she is tired or bored. We have come a loooooong way from coping with the scratching. It used to be much worse, such as during meal times. I had to threaten to throw away the food before it stopped over night. I am still working on the habitual scratching (Recently, I think she needs to have her fingers chopped off!!!! I admit, there are days when I think, “Why me?!”)
I strongly recommend these almost ‘natural’ remedies that seriously work.
1) Dream Wash and Dream Cream from Lush - Children with eczema suffer from such dryness of skin that when washing, the layer of oil is gone, too. Using washing lotion that is oil based works miracles for the skin, I used to use epaderm or balenum or oilatum. They do keep the skin moist but they do not cope with the itch.
I now swear by Dream Wash and Dream Cream (they don’t call it DREAM Wash and DREAM Cream without a reason =)) from Lush. Tried and tested in the hot and humid weather in Shanghai last year, the Angel did not suffer like she did in Singapore because of Dream Wash and Dream Cream. When we returned 48 hours later than we were supposed to, due to flight delay, I ran out of Dream Wash and the horror began!
Dream Wash smells really good and has the prickly heat (similar to the snake powder brand) ingredients. It somehow calms the skin a lot and takes away the itch.
After using Dream Wash, I will apply Dream Cream as a base. Because Dream Cream is not a grossly oily cream, I then apply epaderm which is so super oily to keep the Angel’s skin moist. Dream Cream, again, works as a barrier to prevent the itch but it is absorbed so quickly, doesn’t help entirely with the moisture. Without using Dream Cream, the itch returns.
Incidentally, I was advised to use Dream Cream and Dream Wash by a kind lady in Ireland last June. It was the best holiday I have had - Ireland remains my favourite place (the Wicklow mountain being the place of immensely dense isolation) and I received the best advice ever to help the Angel cope with her itch.
2) Carrot juice! This is the MIRACLE an acquaintance here advised me to try. It has worked WONDERS! The Angel drank carrot juice everyday for about a month and I have not seen her skin so beautiful for a long time (except when we were in Norway which got me thinking that eczema could be due to environmental issues).
I, the blur alternative mom, burnt the juicer and did not manage to make her any carrot juice for a month! Because we are not keen to accumulate more things before we pack our lives in boxes again, I thought we’d wait. However, the skin cannot wait. I bought a juicer last week and I’m bent on getting her skin back to being supple and beautiful. To date, her skin is beautiful but it is the habitual scratching that is the barrier to clear skin.
Even the Angel knows about the goodness of the carrot juice. On days that she has been scratching, she will tell me, “Drink carrot juice! I will get better!”
Another friend did recommend boiling carrots and apples and drinking it. I tried it before and it helped, too. But the effect from freshly blended carrot juice is almost immediate(results can be seen within two days).
3) A daily dose of fish oil helps to keep the skin from breaking up. In the initial stage of eczema, a homeopath happened to see Angel’s skin and adviced me to give fish oil. When I started fish oil, I haven’t used Dream Wash and Dream Cream yet. By not giving fish oil for a month, I realised that the scaly, flaky skin returned. I started with Equazen and have never changed it since then.
There you are, just those wonderful remedies and eczema is kept at bay. The combination of the above three combats different but important issues - itchiness (Dream Wash and Dream Cream), suppleness (carrot juice), elimination of scaly, flaky skin (fish oil).
I strongly discourage the use of steroids (sensibly) and would encourage parents to read, read and read labels and question doctors and discuss with doctors when prescribed such creams or even medication. It is very important to be an informed parent when it comes to medication. My encounter with a pediatrician in Singapore (almost two hours waiting time and less than five minutes of brisk consultation) left me wondering if doctors prescribe just ‘quick-fixes’.
By trying to be as organic as possible, I think we can save some problems later on in life from side effects or unknown effects.
I’m interested to know or disucss eczema issues with other parents or anyone who has experienced it. I’d be glad to answer any questions or hear from anyone who has tried any other remedies that work.

poor angel! she had it bad eh? though i must say she looked v cute in the photos, even with the excema :p
cairo suffers from excema too though it has gone into remission for quite some time now.
i had to get both her body shampoo and moisturiser (steroid free) from her doctor (switched to something else now that she’s better). food wise, i am more relaxed now though still very particular when it comes to seafood (only fish).
anyway, i will start giving cairo carrot juice and fish oil now, just in case it comes back!
thank you for sharing. i am most appreciative of the tips.
Hi AM, thank you for sharing with us. I cannot imagine myself in your shoes. It has been hard on you and angel. You have been a great mom and I’m glad that you have found the remedy to Angel’s allergies. May God continue to sustain you with strength and wisdom as you care for Angel everyday.
Thanks for the eczema tips!
I did share them with Chris but he won’t drink carrot juice and won’t go near Lush because of the strong smell of the shop.
Maybe I should buy a bar of it on Father’s Day and hopefully he uses it?
Ryan has mild eczema that is under control so we just live by Aqueous cream for baths and Doublebase which was prescribed by the GP here.
whoa..great post on eczema, must get my ex mgr to read..she has pretty bad attacks…

Hi Mom of Cairo, it is good that Cairo’s eczema is kept at bay. How was she affected? Angel’s eczema is compounded by multiple food allergies and any other kind of allergies! She hasn’t had any seafood before, except fish!
Go easy on the carrot juice if her eczema is kept at bay. Maybe just once a week or two. Fish oil is good for other stuff but my primary concern is fighting eczema off to keep scratching away.
And you are most welcome with the tips. I do wish to learn more about it, too, especially from others who have similar experience.
Hi Jean, thanks for your encouragement. Frankly, I have sometimes been a very bad mom, struggling to handle all these issues. But hey, I have had a breakthrough! Thanks for remembering us in your prayers!
Hi Dory, what the GP recoomends for Ryan is different from what we are given here! We were advised agst aqeous cream and what is Doublebase? Strange, isn’t it and we are in the same country! It’s important that your remedies work for Ryan and that is very good!
Hey, is Chris’ eczema severe? Dream Cream and Dream Wash is cream like, not a bar. I agree, the scent from Lush is overpowering, Ray refused to walk in before, too! I remember how we used to talk about that ’super strong smelling shop’ at Suntec Singapore!
Hey, let me digress, do you know that Lush mask (some Lettuce name) is simply divine? It cleanses the face so naturally. I bought twice and when my mom and bro were here, we had a lot of fun using it and after that, completely clean face! If you have a chance, try it. Because it is made fresh with no preservatives, it has to be used within two weeks. So, wait till you have a crowd to try for the fun of it!
Hi Jazzmint, yes, get her to read and share her experience, too! It’d be nice for me to learn from others. Sometimes, I wonder why some people have it so bad and some went away. It’d be nice to learn more about eczema, especially from people who have experienced it.
Hi, where can I purchase the Lush products? Linda
Hi Linda, go to www.lush.com and you will be able to see where the products are sould in different countries. Unfortunately, Lush has closed its shop in Singapore. : (
hi
Can we go n buy fm lush fm hong kong website or usa website?
Hi Wendy, I have tried the online sites for HK and USA.
It seems like you can do online order for the HK site and get it sent but I didn’t follow through to the end and it is in Mandarin, I’m not quite sure about some of the terms involved.
As for the USA site, I’m not sure either, if they ship overseas.
We can bring some back for you in July.
Hi
Thanks for dropping by my blog. I TOTALLY understand the eczema ordeal, I had to deal with 2….my hubby and my kid. In fact, the National Skin Centre (S’pore) senior specialist whom my hubby has been seeing all these years….advised him to immigrate!
Going out to anywhere in SG that has no a/c was a night mare for us! Their eczema healed completely after arriving into Vancouver after a month! So now we just use bath oil to keep her “oiled”
They are steroid free now!!!
I don’t have much remedies to share though coz we tried almost everything that everyone recommended….every possible skin specialists in Sg…..
can I add you into my blogroll?
Hi Mel, thanks for coming by! Ohh, it must have been hardwork dealing with two people with eczema in the family. My worry now is also for my daughter when we return to Singapore. Nightmare! I’m glad a complete change in environment has helped them! Well done!
Yes, feel free to add me! =) I will do the same when I get my links sorted out!
Hi, AM, thank you for dropping by on my blog the other day! I can relate to your experience with Eczema. My 2 little ones suffer from eczema and got quite bad one stage when they were both around the 4-6 months of age. We tried fish oil and I agree that has been very useful. These days Chloe bath by pricking a few capsules of Evening Primrose Oil in her bath and that has helped to keep skin well moisturised. As for JD, he still get the ocassional rash but he broke out in rashes when we went back to Sin and M’sia 2 years ago.
Hi Priscilla, I might give the evening Primrose oil a try should the Angel enjoys a bath again! Indeed, the trick is to keep the skin well mositurized! I’m seriously getting worried about all the heat that will do harm to her skin when we are back in Singapore! It was such a nightmare, I wish not to relieve it again!
thanks for the info. ellisa has eczema too but she is also allergic to fish..so could only try 2 of your tips!
i will just try anothing natural to keep those itchiness away.
Hi mommyof2angels, I know how hard it must be when our children not only have eczema, but also allergies! Yes, I agree with you that natural remedies are best to try to keep itchiness away. What do you use with you child? I’m always on the lookout for natural remedies. So far, I have kept the eczema and itch within control but I’m looking out for something that will completely heal my daughter!
Hi,
My daughter, Bailey, appears to be suffering from ezcema, and we seems to be getting nowhere on it. Doctor only recommended us to moisturize her as often as possible. However, still no luck… will try the suggested remedies, and let you know the result. Thanks again for making the effort in sharing the information.
Hi Mae, sorry about the late reply! How is Bailey’s eczema doing? In my opinion, to combat eczema, the best is to build up the barrier dysfunction and thereafter, it is easily managed! It might be good for you to know what are the triggers, too. Yes, moisturizing is important and is a mean of building up the barrier function. Do let me know what works for Bailey! Thanks for dropping by!
I’m so happy that you eventually got the solution to that terrible illness. I pray that under that treatment it leaves the angel’s body for good.
I’m also suffering from eczema. I feel so said b’cause there’s nowhere I can purchase the Lush products in South Africa.I run treatment on this eczema, but the results are not satisfactory. The doctor prescribed biocort for my face and advantan fatty ointment for my body. I never had it before until I went to Johannesburg for furthering my studies. It is really making my life so complicated.
Biocort it not something I can rely on forever. I has long run effects.I makes me too light. That is making me very nervous b’cause my skin might become pale and very thin in the long run. What do you suggest?
Hi Cecilia,
Sorry about the late reply. I totally understand what you mean about how eczema is making your life complicated.
You are right to want to seek alternative remedies for your conditions, given the medication prescribed. Doctors have also advised in the long run how, for example, cream with steroid can cause the skin to become thin.
Lush products may or may not work in Africa where you are at for now and my experience with eczema is that we just have to keep trying to see what works. What happens is, what works in one country doesn’t necessarily works in another, due to the climate and environment.
I believe that if you understand what the triggers are for your conditions, you might be able to handle it better. For example, the barrier dsyfunction in the skin can be worsened by secondary conditions, such as heat, sweat, stress, even food, among many others.
Don’t despair! Just keep working on finding out what are the leakages and work towards building the barrier dysfunction in the body. I’m sure things can and will look better! I will be sharing more about eczema in my more recent postings. If we can all share our wealth of information on eczema, I think we can all do a lot of good to people with the same problems!
Take care and don’t give up trying!
hi,
came across yr blog while searching for a ‘cure’ for my 9 mths old daughter. She has ezcema too and we cant seem to find the cause and a good solution for the condition. My wife has tried many diff kinds of organic baby baths and oil but doesnt seem to work. similarly, every time (in singapore and malaysia) we travel, people will approach us (upon seeing my daughter’s rashes on her face) and gave us diff kinds of advices and medication. Its really tiring to listen to advices given by people who doesnt understand ezcema (they think its normal rash) eventhough these are really nice people. will inform my wife of yr recommendations and try them out. hopefully it will work for my daughter as well
Hi Kiat,
Thanks for dropping by my blog. Yes, I understand totally what you are saying about eczema and all that both you and your wife have to face from people who do not understand it as much as we do.
I think for every parent, having eczema free days must be the best relief we can have for our children and ourselves. I think it is so important for parents with children suffering from eczema to come together and share information about eczema and maybe we can all find something that works out for our children eventually.
I will catch up on your blog to see how your daughter is doing on her eczema!
Hi alternative-mum,
Great to read about the alternative remedies, I think I should try to get my bb off steriods too, since he’s been on it for the last 5 months, and it didnt seem to help his eczema at all.
Singapore is very unforgiving when it comes to eczema. It’s hot and humid and full of mozzies. I get a lot of stares and a lot of comments (some well-meaning, some snide) from strangers on the street too. There’ll be people coming up to ask me whether his rashes came about because I didnt keep him clean, didnt wipe the milk off his face after he’s drank blah blah blah. I’ve very bad eczema myself, and will just lift my socks up to scare them away. It usually works. I’ve even had someone coming up to me once to suggest a silly traditional chinese remedy of using the bb’s pee on his eczema. Yucks!
I’m interested to try the lush products. Any idea if it’s sold in Singapore? There doesn’t seem to be a Singapore page on the Lush site.
As for carrot jucie, do you boil it first, or blend it raw? Do you mix with anything else like apple/avocado/etc?
Jane
Hi Jane,
Sorry about the late reply. You can definitely say it again, that Singapore is such an unforgiving place to be in for people with eczema. We have met at least two doctors who have asked us to consider migrating! I share your sentiments about the stares and comments from passers-by. I find it very disheartening. In UK, I have a lot more empathy and people focus on cheering up my child rather than making me feel as if I’m a lousy mom!
Yes, use of steroid between 2-4 weeks is positive while more than a month is not. One can go back to it when there is a flare up but to use it regularly might do more harm than good. Knowing what steroid cream you are using is also important. Have you had a discussion with the doctor who prescribed the steroid what his long term plans are for your child? I think it is highly important to know what the doctor has in mind as well.
I’m back on carrot juice for my child and I can only say that it is the carrot juice that really brings the suppleness back to the skin. You know, eczema causes a barrier dsyfunction in the skin and they tend to be overly dry. I blend the carrot juice with apple juice. I have also tried boiling carrots and apples and your child can drink the juice, too. It is also useful but the effect is not as immediate. I have enquired about the causes of jaundice (I used to give my daughter carrot juice everyday but my mom is against giving it to her everyday due to causing the yellowing of the skin) and the Chinese sinseh I have consulted assures that it will not cause jaundice and people might get worried if the skin sometimes does turn yellow. It has happened to my daughter before, the side of her face by the ear was a little yellow and I stopped the carrot juice for a while and it went away. I think the age of your child matters as well. Once my child turns 3, I was more willing to let her take bigger quantities. I keep a proper observation. I will highly recommend you fish oil, too. I stopped it for a while as I ran out of supply since back from UK and the scaly skin returned! Now, we are back on fish oil and her skin is healing wonderfully.
As for the Lush products, unfortunately, they are not sold in Singapore. I get my supply from friends travelling. They are found in neighbouring countries - Japan, HK and if you know of anyone going, ask them to get a bottle for you. I only use the dream cream occasioanlly now as I find it a bit too thick, hence, sticky, for our climate but the dreamwash is a good relief for the itch.
Let me know how it goes along for your child and don’t give up! I’m sure your child will be beautiful soon!
Dear Alternative Mom,
I am writing from Singapore and my daughter, 15 years old, is still suffering from the agony of eczema, problem further aggravated by stress from school and unconscious scratching. I was of the opinion that she will outgrow her problem but it seems to have gotten worse as she grows older.
As Lush does not operate in Singapore and I am keen to try Dream cream and Dream wash on her, can you please tell me what’s the main ingredient in these 2 products so I can search for a close alternative, perhaps maybe from The Body Shop….
Thank you and hope to hear from you soon
Hi Desperate Mom Nan,
Thanks for dropping by! I understand what you mean when you cite ’stress from school and unconscious scratching’ as triggers to aggravation of eczema. My daughter is going on 4 and I don’t even have to wait till she is school age to know that stress can be a trigger! It is terrible how eczema can severely affect the quality of life one has!
You can find Lush products online : www.lush.com but let me find out the ingredients proper and email you. I’m afraid there isn’t any ‘replacement’ for it from The Body Shop but there are neighbouring countries selling Lush products and try to see if anyone can help you to buy it. I get my supply now from friends visiting the UK. I might have a bottle to spare! I do feel that Dreamwash still works wonderfully in Singapore but not Dream Cream as it tends to be a bit too ’sticky’ for the humid climate.
I think it is important to help your child build up her barrier dysfunction in order to get eczema-free days! The products used, the diet and also the triggers and leakages help me to keep track of how to cope with the eczema that is faced by my daughter. I’m going to do an updated post on coping with eczema in Singapore soon and do check out my latest post on it soon!
Hi again,
Just like to know if eating raw carrot whole instead of juice achieve same results? How much does Dream wash and cream cost?
Thanks again,
Hi, Desperate Mom Nan, didn’t realise how I could have missed your questions here. I guess there is a limit to how much a child can consume a whole carrot but the juice is much easier to go down. =) My daughter doesn’t really like raw carrots although she asked to try it herself one day.
Dream Wash is about £7.65 and Dream Cream is about £8.95 - I’m not sure if the prices have changed much. You can also check online - www.lush.com for the prices in different countries. I usually get mine from the UK and it works out to be about S$50 for the 2 tubs. Hope the information helps.
Dear Alternative Mom,
Thanks for replying and awaiting informaton on “ingredients”. Are you residing in Singapore?
When replying, please advise how much does Dream wash/cream cos?
Thanks,
Hi, finally the ingredients!!!! Sorry about the late reply! Keeps slipping my mind!
Dream Wash - calamine, sodium palm kernelate, aloe barbadensis leaf extract, water, glycerin, dodium sterate, rosa centifolia flower extract, anthemis nobilis flower extract, melaleuca alternifolia (tea tree) leaf oil, lavendula hybrida flower oil, sodium chloride, EDTA, tetrasodium etidronate, parfum.
Dream Cream - water and avena sativa (oat) kernel extract, rosa centifolia flower water, olea europaer (olive) fruit oil, glycerin, theobroma cacao (cocoa) seed butter, stearic acid, triethanolamine, rosa centifolia flower oil, anthemis nobilis flower extract, melaleuca alternifollia (tee tree) leaf oil, lavendula hybrida flower oil, cetearyl alcohol, styrax, benzoin resin extract, parfum, methylparaben, propylparaben.
I came across your blog and understand your situation with your daugther. My younger son suffer the ezcema for about two years now. Everyone is suffering with him too.
I still have not found a good solution for his skin issue. Sometimes good sometimes bad. I did make the carrot juice for him but not too often. May be I should do it daily or four times a week. He is allergic to fish, egg and sometimes citrus fruit. It is so hard to cook a good meal for him.
How is Angel doing now? Is she under control? I heard that ezcema is not curable but we can control it. I prefer natural remedy instead of using steroid but sometimes steroid seemd to be the only way to help out.
Hi HuiFun, thanks for dropping by my blog. I can identify with what you say about “everyone is suffering with him too”; it really seems the case with severe eczema children and the whole family’s quality of life is greatly compromised!
I have to agree, too, that cooking a meal is tough for children with multiple food allergies! I have had my fair share of headaches and learnt to work my way around it. There is a lot of trial and errors, too. Is your child clinically tested (blood or prick test) to know which food he is allergic to?
As for the Angel, I’d say that her eczema is under control in controlled environment. The weather in Singapore is not kind to her skin and that is where she suffers the most. I see that other eczema children seem to be able to cope with the heat much better than she can. When we are in highlands or cooler places, I find a difference in the skin condition. Of course, I’m also battling the issues of her habit of the mind. I find that once eczema children have acquired the habit of scratching, the itch-scratch cycle is really hard to break. It is something I’m working really hard on at the moment.
You are right, eczema is known to be a chronic problem and while I won’t think about a miracle or cure for it, I understand that it might go away with age or it can be here for the long stay. My only concern now is to control eczema and try not to let eczema affect too much on the quality of our life, although sometimes, it is a long haul and an uphill climb.
As for steroid, it is our personal choice (mine and my husband’s) to use it between 2 weeks to a month (according to our understanding, long term use has negative effects). While using steroid gives you almost immediate result, I guess the underlying decision is how we want to control the eczema and understand it to a point where we can prevent the flares and control it.
I think wonderful doctors really help us to understand eczema better and most of all, the caregivers to understand the causes and working around the eczema. There are days when I’m totally tired and don’t want to deal with it but I guess, we are in for the long run!
Let me know if I can be of anymore help! And keep going on caring for your child with eczema. I know how hard it is. And hey, do join the Food Allergy Network Singapore - www.foodallergysingapore.org
It is wonderful to have such support - something I have been praying for in Singapore!
I have a 2 month old who has been diagnosed with eczema, I took her to the doctor and she prescribed hydrocortozone cream and also told me to get some Eucerin lotion. It works but not as good as I thought it would. I was thinking about taking her to a dermatologist just to make sure that’s what it is. I can say that I’m grateful that he doesn’t scratch at all and he is just as happy as he can be.
Hi Roshell, thanks for sharing your experience with dealing with eczema with your 2 month old. I’m glad you don’t have the problem of the scratching and on hindsight, both the alternative dad and I realised that it is an acquired habit and once the habit is there, it is really hard to break out of the itch-scratch cycle! We spend a lot of time dealing with the itch-scratch cycle which is more habitual and is a habit of the mind rather than the actual itch itself! I’m totally glad that your child is happy and coping well despite having eczema! Keep up the good job! =)
Dear AM!
I just have read your blog.
My 1.5 year old dougter is suffering from eczema, too!
I’ll sure try with Lush products you have named and I’ll be back to you with results. Hope it’ll help!
We used stereoids only once (in the beginig, when I knew nothing about this) and I’m really fighting not to use it ever again. Currently, she is on homeopatic therapy.
Since we live in Serbia and I can’t find epaderm or balenum or oilatum, can you please explain what kind of creams are so I can purchase some alternatives!
I hope Angel is now better and I wish all the best for you!
hi alternative mom,
I came across your blog while searching a cure for my eczema and am really glad to see the remedy provided. I definetely will try the carrot juice and hope it helps for me. I have been having eczema since I was a baby and it certainly doesn’t even get a lil better 24 years later. I still get the stares and people still move away from me on the bus (even better, I get two seats) oh yeah just wanted to enquire about the dream cream and the dream wash. I am residing in Singapore and am seriously interested in getting some of the dream cream and dream wash to try out. Do you know where in singapore can I get it in singapore?? also, for the fish oil you recommended, I have been taking it for a while though not very consitent as I will forget to eat it here and there. Is there a certain brand that is better? as the one I am taking now doesn’t seem to have any effect on me.
Hope your angel gets better and all the best to you. =) god bless
Dear Alternative Mom,
Thank you for your blog.
I plan on trying the carrot juice remedy. I believe it is the Omega-3 content of the fish oil that is nourishing for the skin, I will try adding that fat to my baby’s diet.
Eczema has plagued my six month old baby. She has had beautiful skin until she was nearly six months old. Eczema has mainly affected her torso and is starting on her scalp.
I have found a great cream that seems to keep the inflammation and itching at bay (knock on wood) - it is a Calendula cream made by Weleda.
I plan on trying the dream cream - thanks for the recommendation.
Treating the scalp is my current dilema.
Kat
