“No Time for Fun Things”

“No Time for Fun Things”

One night, just before going to bed, the Angel told me.

“You are always busy; busy cooking, washing, feeding, packing. You have no time for fun things.” All said in a cool, calm but definitely disappointed voice.

I guess it is a combination of my ineffectual organizational skills, lack of breathing space and a dearth of energy while struggling to keep pace of running the house and the Angels. When I can finally sit down, I guess I sometimes don’t have the buoyancy left for “fun things”.

It is injustice I do to my feisty Angel who is really full of energy and life, but sometimes quelled by my incompetence to keep up.

But I REALLY do want to do fun things with the Angel and that’s exactly what I told her.

“I want to do FUN things and I want to do it with you!”

I endeavor to try harder!

So, I’m off to do “fun things” with the Angel over the weekend!

Good riddance to cooking, washing, feeding and packing!

Malacca, here we come!

Oh, I get that all the time! But I try my best to make up for it by either spending an hour each day or ALL DAY if I miss out on a few days *wink*

    Hello,
I just started reading your blog, my wife passed me the link, and I am so thankful to find someone that thinks about their daughter’s eczema the same way we do…feeling that you’ll do anything and everything it takes just to have a ‘good day’. Your honesty and openness is refreshing. I see our life mirroring yours in so many ways after reading only a few of you blogs. I am compelled to comment and thank you as you’ve made me laugh, cry, and think. I’m planning on trying many of the tips i read, particularly carrot juice.
Thank you and I wish you the best of luck….

    Hi The Bean’s dad,

Thanks so much for dropping by my blog and leaving your honest comments. I write about what makes me tick, or that pulls my strings, or the simple emotions of life that one feels. :-)

Any luck with the carrot juice for your daughter’s eczema? The healing process didn’t happen overnight for me but I really see the effects in the long run. Keep going, we may be in for the long haul when helping our children with the eczema, but in the process, I have gained so much from the experience.

Hi Jasmine, good to see you writing again. I feel the same. After all the cooking, washing, feeding etc, I have no energy left for Sarah, and I feel so guilty keeping her at home. She’s the kind who needs to get out and move. Perhaps we should do some fun stuff with our girls together.

    Hi Lengleng!

Nice to hear from you! Yes, our energy gets depleted so quickly after the chores, isn’t it? Well, I figure that I’m mom first and house later! So, I’m trying to keep to that and hope it works! I arrange playdates for the Angels once a week! Let’s arrange one together someday!
